QUALITY & SAFETY ADVISOR
FULL TIME PERMANENT POSITIONS AND PERMANENT PART TIME POSITION
Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the
above positions to work as a member of the Quality and Safety team in
the Programme, Quality and Safety Department to provide supports on
all matters throughout Saint John of God Community Services relating
to quality and safety activities, practice improvement, compliance
with regulations and standards under the Health Act **Apply on the
website** as regulated by HIQA, and other relevant legislative
requirements including Mental Health Commission regulatory compliance.
One of the primary functions of the Advisor is to carry out audits in
residential and respite designated centres on behalf of the registered
provider across all above regions and prepare a written report on the
safety and quality of care and support provided in the centre. The
department provides expertise, advice, training and support to assist
in the implementation of an organisation wide Quality and Safety
framework which ensures the Services achieve its mission, attains
strategic corporate objectives and continuously improves its
performance in delivering services. As a resource for staff we aim to
promote continuous improvement in shared learning.
THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE MUST BE FLEXIBLE, COMMITTED AND HAVE THE
FOLLOWING;
* Possess an appropriate third level qualification in social care
(equivalent to QQI Level 7) or health
* Demonstrate experience in the area of intellectual disability and
experience in mental health services is desirable
* Proven track record in the delivery of Best Practice Person
Centred Services which meet a high standard in quality and safety.
Excellent knowledge and understanding of HIQA/MHC regulations, HIQA
national standards and other relevant legislative requirements under
the Health Act **Apply on the website** and experience of quality
systems in practice.
* Proven ability to use initiative, work under pressure and achieve
deadlines.
* Possess knowledge and experience of implementation of all HSE
National Policies; including Person Centred Planning; Risk Management;
Incident Management Framework; National Policy of Safeguarding
Vulnerable Persons etc.
* Demonstrate excellent skills in auditing, report writing, training
and data analysis;
* Display effective interpersonal and communication skills in team
working and a flexible approach within the role;
* Possess excellent computer (ICT) and organisational skills;
* Hold a full clean Driver?s License and access to own means of
transport and a commitment to drive as part of the role.
